HI everyone,
I'm Jason and have just signed up as a member here.
Been into hiking / kayaking for the past year or so. All my hikes so far have been day hikes, primarily around Bell's Rapids and Walyunga NP. I've also dome some trips in the south of Perth, around the Brookton area.
I've recently started to purchase gear in preparation for doing some overnight hikes and kayak trips. I'm not too fussed about lightweight gear. I'll be taking what I want/need for a comfortable time.
At present the bulk of my setup consists of:
Blackwolf Tempo 40l with 3ltr bladder
Raichle Scout boots and Raichle Storm shoes2 x 1ltr stainless steel Nalgene bottles
2 x GSI stainless steel cupsGSI Outdoors Pinnacle Dualist cooking system (just incase the wife decides to come)
Kovea Moonwalker stove
Hennessy Hammock Explorer Deluxe with Hex Tarp
Obviously there are a few other bits and pieces that I've not included, but suffice to say it is sufficient for my needs :)
Most of my kayaking so far has been either in Moore River or the Swan with a view to do the Blackwood later this year.
I also do a fair bit of 4wd exploring, primarily in the north of WA (the Kimberley region). My wife and I spent 2 months travelling the Kimberley for our honeymoon in 2007 in our 4wd with a roof top tent. We are heading back up that way in April of this year for 3 weeks.
Looking forward to seeing you on the trails.
Cheers,
Jason.
