In August this year, I'm going to be walking from Pemberton to Albany, which for me will be the final leg of the Bibbulmun track. My first walk along this track was slightly less than two years ago, having walked from Kalamunda to Balingup during the first 12 days of September, and last year I walked from Balingup to Pemberton around the same time of year.
During both walks I did not encounter any snakes, although I did bump into a few walkers that were wearing gators. Taking into consideration that the weather is likely to be colder than my two previous trips, as I will be walking one month earlier and heading south, is there any reason to fork out money for a pair of gators?

Walking inthe wet good idea as you can wear shorts adn it keeps your socks and boots dry. Also further south there can be some wet spots so stops mud poring in. Hudo

I always walk in gaitors, reasons being, stops short shrub scrapping your legs, when raining helps with rain not running into your boots, also beach walking helps sand not piling in to your shoes...yes well snakes too I guess.
So always a good idea to have your gaitors..good luck on finishing your end to end.
