A couple of years ago I bought my first pair of trail runners. They quickly became my favourite shoes.

Salamon xa pro was the shoe I think. When they had worn out I decided to give Northface a go, after reading the ultura marthon man. These shoes looked the part with the dial at the heel to tighten the wire lace , they also had the price to go with it. Two years on again and never been happy with these and no longer trail running just bashing about through the bush I've gone back to Salamon these are without a doubt my new favourite shoes.

Anyone else have some favourites to share??

Also has anyone tried the Vibram 5 fingers, your thoughts?

Columbia Trail Meister purchased from Mountain Designs back in 2007, I still have them today and they have done hundreds of km's and still going strong. Well kind of, but I do still wear them on the trail.

Vibram, well not tried them but I do hear they provide no arch support at all, so if thats a concern for you then best give them a wide berth.

In my opinion so long as they are light, well ventilated and comfortable then go for them.

Thanks for the post.

Cheers
