Now 66 years old and have been wandering around in the bush since i was about nine or ten years old when i would set out with my younger brother from what is the major shopping centre in Mandurah and walk through the bush to what is now Madora and then find our way back .Went on to joining the Boy Scouts when i was old enough to join , our camps used to be held at Gillwell campsite which is now in the middle of Kelmscott ,it was from here that i started walking in the Darling Ranges . After the Scouts i went in to the Citizens Military Force and started driving heavy Army trucks around and in the bush .
When i married i was lucky to have a wife who was also interested in the bush and also into travel , we went to england and worked in London for nine months and then set out to see the whole of the U K and then off in our little Ford Anglia to see Europe Via France , Holland ,Germany Scandinavia ,Finland Russia ,
Poland , Checkoslavakia , Berlin , France , Spain ,Italy , Austria ,Jugoslavia , Greece , and then by boat around to Beirut and then home to Perth ,this trip took nine months also .
We then settled down for a while and raised four children . Once we were able to leave the kids we got back to our walking and have walked the Overland Trail in Tasmania , The Larapinta , The Inca Trail South America ,The Bibbulmun Track
where we now do track maintenance down near Walpole , I have also walked from Canberra down to Melboune along the Austalian Alps Walking Track ,we are now trying to find time to get back on the Bibbulmun Track .
