Trail maintenance after the storm.

The June storms have wrecked havoc on the local trails around Collie, with Debris and trees all over the trails.

The Collie MTB riders were quick to get into action for a clean up after the worst of the weather had finished.

About 10 riders took some time out, and  gave Rays trail a big clean up. Rakes, shovels, axes and chainsaw in hand had the trail looking like new with several hours work…

My day at the 2012 trails conference

The 2012 WA State Trails Conference was held at the University of WA on the 25th of May. The talks were held at various locations on campus, making sure we got our 15 minutes of exercise for the day by walking between the various venues. With close to 200 delegates in attendance, it was by far the largest State Trails Conference yet.

International guest speaker Dafydd Davies was the star attraction for the day. He talked about sustainable trails, planning, frame work and using trails…

Pile rd MTB trails turn 11 years old.

Pile rd trails turns 11 years old



The lennard mountain bike trails commonly known as the Pile rd trails has just had its birthday this week turning 11 years old. It was officially opened on the 18th March 2001.

The original trail which was used for racing was the butchers trail. XC racing were held on the butchers trail for about 10 years previous, taking us back over 20 years of history of mtb riding at the pile rd location.

i do prefer the more technical trails such as turner hill, forsythe mill and little ovens but don't mind the heritage trail and especially the munda biddi trail aswell.
what sort of trails do you prefer?

the bike is a Cannondale Moto2 with fox talas 36 on the front 160mm travel
and fox dhx4 on the rear
