"Hi Karen, Conga rats on the dehydrator.... pretty much any recipe works.... you just have to have no or as little as possible fat, otherwise it is inclined to go rancid.. Not a great discovery out in the middle of nowhere with no altenate food…"

"Hi Karen.. I use a smaoll dehydrator with about 8 round shelves. It does the job. I also vacuum pack individual meals. Dehydrating can get overengineered just like everything else. I put mine in the childrens bathroom as the fan is annoying rather…"

Profile Information

a bit about me

I am particularly fond of multi day walking.
Had planned to do the next stage of our Bib Track walk(Mumbalup to Pemberton) next month but I am required at a Cub Scout camp instead. Hope to go in October instead.
Last year walked Dwellingup to Mumby.
Cape to Cape 2006, (staying in Gracetown each night)
2008 Larapinta (unsupported) Fab fun and the re-tox in Alice at the end was even better!!
I enjoy rogaining though feel my serious phase is in the past... altho that will also probably pass, too!
Have hiked Yosemite, Arches NP, Denali, Inca Trail, Torres del Pine, Dolomites and lots of UK. Mt Kenya, Tubkal.....
Once upon a time I bicycled from North Slope, Alaska to Tierra del Fuego (just because you can;)
Favourite Gear.
Nanutak sleeping bag... warm and superlight.
MSR XPK stove.. sounds like a jet but wow it is fast
Merino thermals
Snowpeak titanium (whatever I can afford)
