Just a short entry for my second gear test hike.

Walk was ok but I found my pack quite uncomfortable. Need to learn how to pack it properly and it needs adjustment. That and the fact that I am not used to carrying 16kg of pack for any reasonable distance. Yes you read right 16kg. The ultra-lightweighters would be aghast. Hike Hope Heal

I am currently in preperation mode for the trek. Dehydrating, planning, squaring stuff away. I guess you never really consider how much goes into putting your whole life on hold for eight weeks and 1000km, and likewise how your better half will need to adjust for the time you are away, three children and all.
