I have just finished Cape to Cape north to south.. 7 of us started on the 10th March 2010 and 3 finished on 16th March 2010.
What a walk, it was a challenge, lots of beach walks (some soft sand) up and down 4WD tracks and dunes there is a bit of everything. The first 2 days the weather was very very hot, so walking out in the open was a challenge all on its own. The good news was the water at the campsites was cold straight out of the tank, now that was something to look forward to. We had to carry extra water in some parts as we didn't always camp at the sites. I couldn't believe Gracetown, you have to buy your water there and they slog you as well.
Our IT was pretty good we managed to spread it out pretty evenly and it was a good buzz to walk into Augusta, BUT, the rotten cab driver (who I rang before we left to see if he comes out to lighthouse to pick people up and he said "yeh yeh, just ring and I will be there I am in and out all the time". Well!!!! where the bloody hell are ya?? we ended up getting a lift from a lovely couple from Sydney who luckily for us had a 4WD and offered us a lift in to town. PS. I am still waiting for cabbie to ring me back. So beware that may happen.
Other than that it all went to plan. If you would like to know more just get in touch with me.
cheers
