This question is asked nearly every week in the Trails WA group, so we have put together some information that we hope will be useful.
Remember everyone’s foot is different and what works well for one may be terribly unsuitable for another.

If you crave peace and quiet, wide open spaces, walk trails, wild flowers and good old country hospitality then you’ll love Wongan Hills. Located 2 hours north east of Perth, with a population of less than 1,000 people and surrounded by farmland and granite outcrops, Wongan Hills is the perfect weekend getaway. And at this time of year it is bursting forth with colourful wildflowers.
If you are looking for a serious trail to tackle, Mt Matilda delivers with stunning views after a…

While the majority of Western Australia’s hiking trails are centred around Perth and the forests of the South-West, there is a real sense of adventure that can be found in the vast rugged landscapes to the north of Perth.…

Have you been following the Trail Towns series on SBS television?
This time ‘Vandy and Deetz explore the iconic trails of the Southern Forests and Valleys, located around 200 km south of Perth and 50km inland from Margaret River and Busselton. This area is dotted with little towns, most of them connected by the Munda Biddi Trail. Think lush forests, a region bursting with fresh food and epic mountain biking.’

Purnululu is one of only 4 World Heritage listed sites in WA and as expected the scenery is stunning. Purnululu means ‘sandstone’ and is home to the iconic Bungle Bungles; incredible dome shaped, sandstone mounds, featuring distinctive orange and black banding.
The park is only open in the ‘dry season’ from April to December, depending on the weather and rains. You will need high clearance 4WD to access the park and remember to carry way more drinking water than usual in this climate.…

Great to see the Trails Hub work underway.
Hi Linda,
Thanks a lot. I am planning to do the Munda Biddi trail, coming February. I am from Holland, Europe and visited South Australia and a little part of the outback in 2005 for 6 weeks and had a wonderfull time.
Hi All
We take delivery of our brand spanking new BOB Ibex trailers which attach to our mountain bikes, tomorrow and waiting with anticipation for the track to open all the way to Albany so we can be amongst the first end to enders. In the meantime, we are going to do an overnighter and travel from our house in Darlington to the Munda Biddi trail and on to Carinya camp site and ride back the following day. 104k round trip and at a moderate pace so as to enjoy the surrounds. Has anyone got advice for us on this part of the trail/campsite etc? I understand we can take a detour around the Dell.
Also, we'd like to post this in the general area but not sure how. Can the admin team post if for us?

Hi Linda,
I trekked the Kokoda Trail in April this year and I'm looking forward to some easier treks closer to home. I've created a blog of my journey for friends and family. Is it appropriate to provide the hyperlink to my blog on the Trailtalk site? Some members may be interested in how you prepare for Kokoda and a description of the trek.
Cheers
Steve W.
