"No Name" island trails. - Another great find for WA trail users.
With 2 hours to fill in on a recent hot Sunday I discovered some great short walk / bike trails at Ascot Waters. Just SW of Garratt Road bridge in the City of Belmont. Drive through the new sub division and find two good little car parks. One hour slow walk round the Island mostly in shade or better views but exposed at the top of the hill. Something for everyone and disabled access.
No toilets and top car park has no shade.
In one hour we saw ospreys, herons, kookaburra, multiple ducks, seagulls, pelicans and other wading birds.
Sh..... don't tell too many people !! Hugh Maclean 10 February 2009
